Dear, Jeanette, Sally and Mike
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. Bud was a great guy, very freindly and quite the character. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you're family. We love coming to your Inn and always enjoyed talking with Bud. I know his presence will always be there. You are a wonderful family and God Bless.

Dear Jeanette, Mike, Sally and Samantha,
What sad news the mail brought us today. Bud was a huge part of the best time of the year for me. Although, I have to say, he used to scare the hell out of me. But after the first few encounters, I knew he was just a big teddy bear who would've walked through fire for anyone who needed him to. I guess the fact that we were always walking into the office with something we broke in the room kind of set the tone for our discussions! Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We have a Duck in Eugene now and will see you before August. The favorite route to campus runs through Cannon Beach. We will see you soon.
With much love,

Dear Jeanette, Sally, Mike & Samantha,
I can't tell you how sad I was to hear the terrible news about bud's passing! I know how much of a battle Bud had with his health over the past two years or so and that his demise was not long away but the actual news was such a shock!
I will miss Bud terribly! Over the last 30 years i've enjoyed everyone of our times together. Bud's knowledge and wisdom was never ending and his memories of the Oregon Coast during his youth were educational and exciting.
Please accept my deepest condolances for your great loss!

Dear Jeanette, Sally and Mike
Peg and I are sure sorry to hear about Bud's passing. I was really happy to get a chance to talk with Bud over our Christmas stay this last time. I certainly missed him there behind the front desk though. When I read the write up abut Bud so many memories came to mind from our conservations over the years (close to 30). We will certainly miss Bud but look forward to seeing you all this next Christmas.
Much love, Jim and Peg

Jeanette, Sally and Mike;
Saw the news in the paper last week. Thought you might put more in shortly. Saddened by Buds passing as I thourghly enjoyed all the conversations we had over the last 32 years. Kind of like we all grew up together in some respects. While running the route in Cannon Beach, I would save the Inn to be at the tail end of it so I could talk to you guys for awhile. Bud, in particular, was an interesting one to talk with as he knew so much about so many things. I really miss you all.
All the best
Rick

Dear Jeanette, Sally, Mike and Samantha,
We extend our deepest sympathies to you. We have shared so many memories with all of you over the years, the loss of family members, the joy of new additions, the children growing up. We feel like family!
We will miss Bud, his wit, stories, political banter, and his deep love for our country and his home. How generously he has shared himself and the place he loved!
God Bless You!
You are in our thoughts and prayers,
Dan and Lynn Leyde

Crossing The Bar
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
