Memories
Milt and Anita Thompson

We came to Cannon Beach many years ago accidentally when we were looking for a night's lodging.  We were fortunate to get in on a cancellation and that was the beginning of a love which encompassed many, many years.  Milt and I fell in love with Cannon Beach and, as we discovered, we couldn't have found a more wonderful place to stay in all Cannon Beach.  Janette and Bud were just wonderful to us right from the beginning.  As the years went on, we treasured their friendship and long conversations about issues in and around Cannon Beach.  We admired their knowledge, determination and friendliness.

We were so sad when, in 2008, we had to end our yearly trek to our "home away from home" because of health reasons.  We regret even more not having been able to give Bud one last hug and thank you for providing a place to reguvinate our spirits.  We sorely miss the sound and smell of the ocean, the long walks on the beach, the leasurely daily pace and above all our yearly talks with a good friend - Bud.

God bless and comfort the family - Jeanette (Anita's soul-mate), Sally and Mike and wish you all the best as you carry on without your dear one

Peter Crowley
Bud and family, Thank you for making Cannon Beach so much a part of the history of the Crowley family. You are responsible for so many memories for our family dating back to the 1960s. Three generations of Crowleys have been able to visit you during the summer. It was then, and remains, a highlight of our year. Your generosity and kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you. Peter, Calla, and all of the Crowleys

Bud was there when my dad walked with my sister and I hand in hand, as we held our buckets. I have grown, married, shared walks on that beach with my husband beginning with our honeymoon so many years ago. I remember the first time walking that beach with my own children and hopefully the memories will grow with them. I will continue to walk on the beach with the memory of Bud's smile. My prayers are with you Jeanette, Mike, and Sally. God's comfort be upon you, Janelle

Bud will be missed very much by our family as his smiling face was always a welcome upon my arrival to the Ecola Inn.

Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you...Jeanette, Mike and Sally.

Looking forward to seeing you in May.

Bud cooked us many meals on our Honeymoon in 1970. Loved the food, the view from the resturant and the people. Bud continued to feed us by making his wonderful potato salad when we gathered to celebrate the 4th of July ,only now the family had grown to include not only the two honeymooners but our children and grandchildren. Bud was such a figure behind the front desk. He will always be remembered and missed.
